Hanover Township seeks members for diversity task force

Hanover Township is launching a new Diversity and Engagement Task Force, and needs the help of nine citizen volunteers to carry out its mission.

"Hanover Township is proud of the many different cultures and backgrounds that make up our community," Supervisor Brian P. McGuire said in a written statement. "The goal of this task force is to ensure the township is being inclusive and proactive in serving all segments of our population."

The new task force has the responsibility of assessing the status of the township's diversity in relation to its programming, services and personnel. Members of the nine-seat panel will look into any circumstances that seem to inhibit diversity and community engagement, and submit their findings and recommendations to the township's board of trustees.

The nine members selected will be appointed to one-year terms. Those interested in serving can pick up an application at the township hall, 240 S. Route 59 in Bartlett, or visit hanover-township.org. For further questions about the task force, visit the website or call (630) 837-0301.
