Lake Zurich wins financial award

Lake Zurich has been recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), village officials announced Monday.

The agency's Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. The CAFR is an annual report that provides a thorough and detailed presentation of the village's financial condition.

Beyond the CAFR, Lake Zurich also communicates the financial progress, changes, and sustainability of the village in various other ways, including an award-winning Transparency Portal, monthly data metric reports for all operating departments, and the online posting of all bills that are processed through the finance department.
