Issue questions
What are the most important issues facing your community and how do you intend to address them?
The most important issue currently facing the Sugar Grove Community is the development and future of our Village. The most glaring issue at the moment being Route 47 - and I-88 interchange. This absolutely has to be thought out and done correctly. This will be best addressed by the continued communication between our residents and community leaders. Finding the best use of the land and balancing the future of the village is our most important priority. The above is one of the main reasons I decided to run for Village Trustee.
What makes you the best candidate for the job?
The ability to communicate and lead. In my personal and professional experience I have worked with multiple groups and brought together different resources to solve complex problems.
Describe your leadership style and explain how you think that will be effective in producing actions and decisions with your village board or city council.
My personal style is to listen carefully and bring together the voices and resources to work through any issues presented. I am not afraid to go search for the resources that are needed to get the job done.
How would you describe the condition of your community's budget, and what are the most important specific actions the town should take to assure providing the level of services people want?
The Village of Sugar Grove has done a good job balancing the needs of their community members. The challenge is that as we move forward and grow, continuing to find the correct balance to keep us the great community that we are.
What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?
I would like to continue to find ways to foster communications to continue to create our small town values. Over the past month it has been great to see residents and community members step up and be heard in regards to what is happening within our village. The idea would be to involve the community more in the front end of discussions and make sure that they are informed with what is happening.
