Issue questions

What are the most important issues facing your community and how do you intend to address them?

Preserving our existing land use and zoning ... Maintaining the Rural, Residential and Equestrian character of our Great Village, Mettawa!

What makes you the best candidate for the job?

My proven track record of SAFETY FIRST, leadership, chairman of Public Works committee paving all roads over a 6 year period, preserving our open space, by more than doubling our land holdings, as well as strengthening our Strong Financial Condition. Extensive knowledge of land use and zoning within the village. Curbing WASTEFUL SPENDING over the last 8 years. Working for a stronger property REAL ESTATE TAX REBATE for ALL residents. Making Available Lake Michigan water to most of our residents and continuing to study ways to make available for ALL. LISTENING TO ALL CITIZENS CONCERNS AND SOLVING PROBLEMS WHERE POSSIBLE. Preserving property values. preserving METTAWA, the Gem If central lake county!

Describe your leadership style and explain how you think that will be effective in producing actions and decisions with your village board or city council.

Strong leadership and addressing concerns of all residents while maintaining solid fiscal responsibility. Making solid decisions on matters insuring the preservation of our Comprehensive Plan. Maintaining VOLUNTEER GOVERNMENT which insures better control of CHECKS AND BALANCES of which I add as one of my strong points. MAINTAIN SAFETY FIRST FOR ALL OUR FAMILIES AND CHILDREN AS WELL AS BUSINESSES AND INFRASTRUCTURE!

How would you describe the condition of your community's budget, and what are the most important specific actions the town should take to assure providing the level of services people want?

Our budget is Prudent yet SOLID in providing continuing services that exceed most communities in Lake County. Keep a reserve in place for emergencies and any other unforeseen safety first issues that may suddenly arise, including land use and zoning preservation.

What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?

Preserving our open space lands and large residential lots by rewarding this preservation with LOWER REAL ESTATE PROPERTY TAX, BY PROVIDING A TAX CREDIT FOR MAINTAINING OPEN SPACE ON INDIVIDUAL PROPERTY THRU AN (Opt in or opt out annual) EASEMENT PROGRAM FOR THE PRESERVATION OF OUR RURAL RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY. IT BENEFITS THE ENTIRE COUNTY, WITH LESS MAINTENANCE, LOWER DENSITY, LESS WATER RUNOFF AND LESS CARBON EMMISIONS INTO THE AIR. And Thank you for listening and a Vote fo Tim Towne for Village Trustee, Mettawa would be humbly appreciated.
