Issue questions

What are the most important issues facing your community and how do you intend to address them?

The most important issues are to monitor and address matters affecting village residents in relation to outside factors that impact our village such as state and county road proposals, current and future budget demands, as well as proposals for development in neighboring communities and to keep the village residents informed regarding the status of those issues. It is also important to invite more resident input on complex matters that come before the village board to allow every resident to participate in and contribute to the future shape and quality of the Village of Barrington Hills.

What makes you the best candidate for the job?

I have been a village resident since 1991 and believe that I have a good sense of the issues that concern most residents. I am able to effectively work with individuals to help reach acceptable solutions to difficult issues.

Describe your leadership style and explain how you think that will be effective in producing actions and decisions with your village board or city council.

I generally work to first gather facts and information, and then engage in open discussions to explore all aspects of an issue before making a decision on any given matter.

How would you describe the condition of your community's budget, and what are the most important specific actions the town should take to assure providing the level of services people want?

The condition of the budget has substantially improved over the past six years, and I believe is it important to maintain the financial integrity of the village and continue to control costs while simultaneously implementing additional technology to make more user-friendly information available to residents regarding pending village issues.

What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?

I believe that we should help provide village residents with new ideas for habitat conservation that promote beneficial wildlife diversification for use in connection with the maintenance of large parcels of residential land in the village, and to design an efficient way to gather and provide ideas regarding creating and maintaining diverse and interesting natural surroundings.
