Grand Avenue work planned in Lindenhurst
Resurfacing and other safety improvements on Grand Avenue (Route 132) between Munn Road and Deerpath Drive in Lindenhurst will require lane closures beginning, weather permitting, Monday, March 4. In addition to resurfacing, existing lanes will be widened with left-turn lanes and a grass median will be added, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation. Curbs, gutters and sewers will be repaired and upgraded and a sidewalk along the south parkway and a bicycle and pedestrian path on the north parkway will be built. Crossings will be upgraded to current standards to make them accessible to pedestrians with disabilities. The work is expected to be complete by the end of November.
