District 15 schools present improvement plans

Officials from Virginia Lake Elementary School in Palatine and Carl Sandburg Junior High School in Rolling Meadows appeared before the Palatine Township Elementary District 15 board this week to provide updates on their improvement plans.

After examining school data, officials indicated that math is their focus area and presented five-point action plans to address the issues. The plan includes adjusting instructional practices and enhancing professional development opportunities. The complete action plans for Virginia Lake and Sandburg can be found at ccsd15.net.

All District 15 schools have been working through a process called Data Wise, which was developed by the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Data Wise supports educators in using collaborative data inquiry to drive continuous improvement of teaching and learning for all students.
