Libertyville High improvises new format for winter play

Fans of improv comedy like that seen on the television show "Whose Line is it Anyway" might want to visit Libertyville High School this weekend, when students are giving the format a go for their annual winter play.

The school's first ComedySportz High School League will feature four teams competing with comedy. Students will match up in various improv games and scenes, with audience members judging the results. In every match, a referee monitors the action, awards points and calls fouls.

Performances are set for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, in the high school auditorium, 708 W. Park Ave., Libertyville.
