Farm to Table Cooking Series continues in Schaumburg

The Schaumburg Park District's Farm-to-table Cooking Series teaches participants where ingredients come from, as well as how to make tasty dishes from scratch.

Upcoming classes are on "Cookin' with Iron" from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 16, and "Smooth as Butter" from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 2.

The classes take place at Spring Valley's Volkening Heritage Farm at 201 S. Plum Grove Road in Schaumburg.

"This cooking series allows participants to really understand their food and where it comes from," said Farm Program Coordinator Patty Kennedy. "The recipes are simple and easy to learn, so you can try them out at home."

The cost for each class is $12 for park district residents and $18 for nonresidents.
