Elgin asking people to identify burglar
Elgin police are asking the public to help identify a person who burglarized several businesses since last week.
Spokeswoman Kristie Hilton said the burglaries were as follows:
On Jan. 9, currency and electronics were taken at 12:44 a.m. from a business in the 900 block of Summit Elgin.
On Jan. 11 there were three burglaries, she said. At 4:20 a.m., currency was taken from a business in the 900 block of Villa Street and at 10 p.m. currency and equipment was taken from a business in the 900 block of Dundee Avenue. Another burglary took place overnight in the 900 block of Dundee Avenue, but nothing was taken, she said.
Between 12:30 and 1:30 a.m. currency was taken from a business in the 800 block of Villa Street.
Currency also was taken Jan. 15 between 10:15 and 10:35 p.m. from a business on the 900 block of Liberty Street, and sometime that night from a business in the 900 block of East Chicago Street, Hilton said.
