Mundelein High hosts first Cultural Fair
Mundelein High School on Thursday held its first Cultural Fair, giving students a chance to showcase their ethnic backgrounds and cultures.
More than 80 students participated in the event, which included performances, a fashion show, informational booths, a scavenger hunt and activities to highlight cultures around the globe. Among the countries represented were Armenia, Russia, Poland, Greece, India, Grenada, Mexico, France and Bulgaria. "These experiences will help students at Mundelein High School learn something new about the world," faculty adviser Anna Grig said. The idea for the fair came from a visit to a similar event hosted annually by Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire. Grig said she hopes Mundelein High's version becomes a yearly event as well and eventually involves community members in addition to students.
