Lake County offers free mental health first aid training

The Lake County Health Department is hosting a free weeklong class to train approved instructors to teach an adult mental health first aid course.

Training normally costs $2,000 per person, but is being offered for free to interested and qualified individuals. Approved individuals who take the class commit to teaching three 8-hour classes during the following year through the Lake County Health Department's Mental Health First Aid program.

Candidates must have general knowledge of mental health and substance use issues, experience teaching groups of adults and experience facilitating groups.

Email info@mentalhealth.today for information or to start the application process. Applications are due Jan. 14.
