Bartlett ranked 9th safest U.S. city

The village of Bartlett was recently ranked as the ninth safest city in America according to the real estate market data platform NeighborhoodScout.

Only three cities in Illinois ranked in the top 10 of NeighborhoodScout's 100 safest cities in America.

Bartlett was ranked one of the safest places in the country to live for its population size and is safer than 87 percent of the cities and towns in the United States based on any population size, according to NeighborhoodScout's analysis of FBI crime statistics.

NeighborhoodScout also found Bartlett's crime rate one of the lowest in the country for its population size. The chance of becoming a victim of a crime in Bartlett is 1 in 176, compared to the U.S. average of 1 in 36.

NeighborhoodScout's research focused on the 100 safest cities in America with a population of 25,000 or more people, based on the total number of property and violent crimes per 1,000 residents reported to the FBI in 2017.
