Professional background: Chair of Department of Criminal Justice at Aurora University; former Naperville police chief and police officer for 45 years; served as a military intelligence officer in Vietnam.

Community involvement: Member of the faculty senate and faculty adviser for the Student Veterans Association. Lifetime member of the Du­Page County Chiefs of Police Association and a member of the Community Policing Committee for the International Chiefs of Police Association. Teaches Homeland Security policing at the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy.
