Aurora police seek suspect in Subway robbery

Aurora police are looking for suspect in an armed robbery at a fast-food restaurant Thursday morning on the city's far east side, officials said.

A man walked into a Subway on the 2300 block of South Eola Road around 7:10 a.m. to use the bathroom, police said. He tried to lure the restaurant's lone employee into the bathroom, telling him it was out of order. When the employee resisted, the suspect handed him a note saying he was robbing the store and then flashed what appeared to be a handgun.

The employee handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect left.

Police describe the suspect as black, 25 to 30 years old, 5-feet, 10-inches tall, weighing 160 to 180 pounds and wearing black clothing.

Anyone with information should call investigators at (630) 256-5500 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at (630) 892-1000. Callers stay completely anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward if the information leads to an arrest.
