Draznin resigns from Mount Prospect library board

Dale Barbara Draznin resigned effective Tuesday from her seat on the Mount Prospect Public Library's board, ending a nearly 20-year tenure on the panel.

"My life has altered over the past few years, and it has become apparent to me that I can no longer give the position of Library Trustee the time and energy it deserves," she said in an announcement of her resignation. "After much thought, and discussion with friends and family, I have concluded that the time has come to resign."

Draznin was first elected to the board in 1999 and went on to serve in all offices and most standing and ad hoc committees, including as the panel's president from 2007 to 2009.

"Dale was a hard worker and participated fully in the work of the board and committees," Executive Director Marilyn Genther said. "She always volunteered to join a new committee or to assist when needed. She enthusiastically advocated for the library throughout the community during her time on the board and was a strong supporter of staff. Her resignation is a major loss to the library."
