Three men rob Aurora jewelry store

Three masked men entered a Jared's jewelry store, smashed two glass display cases and took an unknown amount of items in Aurora on Dec. 21, according to a news release from the Aurora Police Department.

The men entered the store, in the 1000 block of N. Rt. 59, around 7:40 p.m., according to the release.

One of the men stayed by the door and acted as a lookout while the other two announced the robbery, smashed the two cases and grabbed jewelry items, the release said.

After leaving the store the men fled west on foot, according to the release.

All three men were described as black and wearing dark clothing, according to the release.

There is no further description of the lookout, but one of the men who broke the cases was described as 6 feet 2 inches tall and 240 pounds while the other was described as 5 feet 10 inches and thin, the release said.

The total dollar loss of the robbery was not immediately known, according to the release.
