Arlington Heights District 25 gives superintendent a contract extension

Arlington Heights Elementary District 25 Superintendent Lori Bein has received a one-year contract extension, keeping her at the helm of the district through June 2021.

Three years into Bein's tenure as superintendent, she received a three-year extension in May 2017 and annual 2 percent raises. The 6-0 approval by the school board Dec. 13 for the additional year also provides for a 2 percent raise. Bein's base salary is currently $213,144, and with a cafeteria plan, vehicle allowance, employer-paid insurance benefits and contribution to the Teachers' Retirement System, her total compensation is $249,453.

"We are proud of and very happy with Dr. Bein's performance as superintendent of District 25," Board President Brian Cerniglia wrote in a statement. "We believe in the direction Dr. Bein is taking the district and feel District 25 staff and students are in great hands with Dr. Bein as their leader."
