Wheeling woman sentenced to probation, community service for damaging cars

A Wheeling woman who prosecutors say spray-painted vulgarities on the exterior of a Wheeling home and damaged two cars pleaded guilty and paid $1,500 in restitution.

Caitlin Jensen, 22, pleaded guilty to criminal damage to property in exchange for 24 months of second-chance probation, which is available to defendants who have no previous felony convictions and who are charged with nonviolent offenses.

Court records show Jensen was ordered to undergo mental health evaluation and anger management training and perform 30 hours of community service as a condition of her plea Friday to the July vandalism. She was also ordered to pay $674 in fines and is prohibited from contacting the property owners.

Prosecutors say the cars had damage "consistent with being keyed" and that a mixture of bleach and syrup had been poured into the gas tanks.
