Lottery ticket worth $22.5 million sold at Prospect Heights gas station

A winning lottery ticket worth $22.5 million was sold at a Prospect Heights gasoline station, officials announced Monday.

Officials said the winning Quick Pick ticket from Saturday's Lotto drawing came from the Shell station at 2 N. Elmhurst Road. The Shell station will receive a 1 percent share of the largesse - $22,500 - for selling the winning ticket.

For the record, the winning Quick Pick Lotto numbers were 09 - 14 - 27 - 29 - 50 - 51. The winner has yet to be identified.

Illinois Lottery officials said they are urging the winner to sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe place until visiting one of five prize centers in Chicago, Des Plaines, Rockford, Springfield or Fairview Heights.

The winner will have one year from the drawing date to claim the $22.5 million.
