A former Wheeling man was sentenced to 13 years in prison and ordered to register as a sex offender after he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a girl beginning when she was 9 and continuing until she was 12.

Isaac Sanchez-Ibanez, 34, of Highland Park, pleaded guilty last week to predatory criminal sexual assault, a class X felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison, court records show. He was also ordered to pay $674 in fines.

Prosecutors said Sanchez-Ibanez abused the girl from December 2011 through January 2014 and threatened to abuse her younger sister if she told anyone.
