Election results to be finalized Tuesday

The results from the Nov. 6 election will be finalized by county authorities across Illinois on Tuesday. That means the winners will be identified in several close contests in Lake County - including the sheriff's race, county board District 10 and county board District 15. The final vote tally for the state House 51st District race, in which Republican incumbent Helene Miller Walsh of the Mundelein area had a one-vote lead over Democratic challenger Mary Edly-Allen of Libertyville after Election Day - will be determined, too. It takes election authorities two weeks to count legitimate provisional ballots and ballots that were mailed by voters but arrived late but should be tallied. Results will be posted online at lakecountyil.gov/317/Election-Results.
