How you can help rename Arlington Heights' Olympic Indoor Swim Center

The Arlington Heights Park District's Olympic Indoor Swim Center isn't only getting a new gymnasium, indoor walking track, warm water pool, a fitness area as part of a nearly $17 million renovation and expansion - it's getting a new name, with the help of residents.

The park district is soliciting suggestions for a new name for the 50-year-old building to reflect its new status as a multipurpose recreational, rather than the aquatics facility it's been for most of its existence.

Ideas can be submitted online at www.ahpd.org/younameit-form; dropped off or mailed to the Administration Center, Attention: Marketing Department, 410 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004; or emailed to marketing@ahpd.org,

Olympic remains open for now, but is scheduled to close in March until the project's completion, expected in early 2020. Adjacent soccer fields will be open throughout the construction.
