How to get help shoveling snow in Arlington Heights

With winter fast approaching, Arlington Heights residents over the age of 60 or who have a disability should remember that the village's Snow Shoveling Referral Program can help them connect with teens willing to shovel snow.

Residents in need of assistance will be provided with a list of teens in their area willing to shovel. The resident is responsible for contacting the teen and for making the scheduling and financial arrangements. The teen is responsible for snow shoveling or notifying the resident if they are unable to complete the work.

The program was initiated by the Arlington Heights Youth Commission, endorsed by the Arlington Heights Senior Citizens Commission and the Arlington Heights Commission for Citizens with Disabilities.

Interested residents should fill out the Snow Shoveling Referrals Request form, which can be found on the Senior Center portion of the village's website, vah.com/our_community/senior_center.
