Five injured in four-car crash on Route 25 in East Dundee

Five people suffered nonlife-threatening injuries in a four-vehicle crash in the southbound lane of Route 25 at the intersection of Route 72 in East Dundee around 6 p.m. Monday, according to a news release from the East Dundee and Countryside Fire Protection District.

Three of the vehicles sustained heavy damage and the injured occupants of the vehicles were taken by ambulance to area hospitals, according to the release.

The southbound lane of Route 25 reopened at 7 p.m., the release said.

The Carpentersville and West Dundee fire departments assisted on the scene, according to the release.
