Tree-lighting festivities Dec. 1 in Lindenhurst

The Lindenhurst Park District will host the annual tree lighting and festivities from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Lippert Community Center, 2200 Grass Lake Road, Lindenhurst. Activities include outdoor caroling with the students from Lakes Community High School. The outdoor tree will be lit when Santa arrives, and he also will be available for visits inside. Cookies, juice, children's crafts, a stilt walker, juggler will be on hand at no cost. Kids can drop off their letter to Santa in his mailbox. Nonperishable food for the Lake Villa Township Food Pantry will be collected. Registration is not required.
