Rutledge, Zay, win seats on DuPage County Board, Dist. 6

A Democratic newcomer, Sheila Rutledge, and a Republican incumbent, Jim Zay, both won District 6 county board seats.

Unofficial vote totals show Zay with 24,334 votes, Rutledge with 22,941, Wiley with 19,645 and Green with 19,185.

Zay, of Carol Stream, has served on the county board since 1999 and stressed his experience dealing with stormwater issues and the board's success in holding the line on property taxes.

Rutledge, of Warrenville, is a photographer and sales professional, who said she has been active in her community for 20 years and will look at issues differently that analytical thinkers.
