Republican Weber bests Zubert in 64th House race

Former Republican Lake County Board member Tom Weber defeated Democrat Tricia Zubert in the state's 64th House District race, according to unofficial vote totals Tuesday night.

With all precincts in Lake and McHenry counties reporting, Weber had 22,276 votes and Zubert had 16,294.

Weber, 51, will replace Rep. Barbara Wheeler, a Republican from Crystal Lake, who did not seek re-election.

Zubert, 38, is a former school board member with St. Mary's of the Annunciation in Mundelein.

The district incorporates Antioch, Lake Villa, Volo, Fox Lake and Lakemoor in Lake County, and portions of McHenry, Woodstock, Bull Valley and Crystal Lake in McHenry County.
