Renehan, Hart win seats on DuPage County Board, District 3

Democrat Julie Renehan and Republican incumbent Greg Hart defeated GOP newcomer Martin Tully to claim two District 3 seats on the DuPage County Board.

Unofficial final totals showed Renehan with 31,419 votes, Hart with 28,874 and Tully with 22,293.

Renehan, an attorney from Hinsdale, won her first elected post after promising to cut bureaucratic waste in the county's budget and working to stimulate business opportunities and growth.

Hart, a management consultant from Hinsdale, was appointed to the board in September 2017. During his first year on the board he said he helped oversee the reorganization of the county's psychiatric services division and took a leading role in the fight against opioid abuse.
