Incumbents stay on DuPage County Board, Dist. 2

Democrat Elizabeth Chaplin, who started the night as the only Democrat on the 18-member DuPage County Board, and Republican incumbent Pete DiCianni won District 2 seats on the DuPage County Board.

Unofficial final totals show Chaplin with 34,573 votes, DiCianni with 26,598 and Republican newcomer Steve Nero with 21,725.

Chaplin, who has served since 2012, has been a leader in environmental efforts and frequently has questioned the need to hire lobbyists and the amount of pay and benefits for board members.

DiCianni is a former Elmhurst mayor who has served on the board since 2012. He said he led the effort to equip law enforcement officers with Epi-Auto Injectors and helped lead stormwater initiatives.
