Danforth retains seat for Lake County Board District 17

Republican incumbent Michael Danforth will spend another term on the Lake County Board in District 17, unofficial vote totals show Tuesday.
With all 28 precincts and early votes reported late Tuesday, Danforth picked up 7,402 votes for 53 percent of the vote, while Democratic challenger Maria Peterson picked up 6,661 votes for 47 percent of the votes.
All votes are considered unofficial until the votes are canvassed at a later date.
Danforth said he was looking for the board to self-investigate county-issued credit card use, has ideas for tax relief and will hold people accountable.
