Barr wins District 3 seat on Lake County Board

Dick Barr, a 43-year-old Republican from Round Lake Beach, looks to have defeated 27-year-old Democrat Ed Gallagher from Lindenhurst to win a seat on the Lake County Board for District 3, unofficial election results show Tuesday.

With all 24 precincts and early votes reporting late Tuesday, unofficial vote totals show Barr had 5,976 for 52 percent of the majority votes. Gallagher received 5,608 votes for 48 percent of the majority votes.

The votes are not considered official until they are canvassed at a later date.

This is Barr's first stint on the Lake County Board, and will replace outgoing District 3 rep Tom Weber.
