Schaumburg library hosts program on repaying student loans

To help those facing years of student loan payments, the Schaumburg Township District Library will present "I Graduated with Student Loans - Now What?" from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, in the Rasmussen South Room of the library at 130 S. Roselle Road in Schaumburg.

Karen Chan of Karen Chan Financial Education and Consulting LLC will show attendees how to determine the types of loans they have, along with their rules and repayment options.

She also will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of consolidating or handling a defaulted loan.

There is no fee to attend, but registration is required. Registration takes place online at stdl.org or by calling (847) 923-3347. Patrons may also register in person at the Information Desk on the library's second floor.
