Gurnee bank robber sought

Authorities are looking for the person who robbed the Gurnee Community Bank on Wednesday Courtesy of Gurnee police

Authorities are seeking help in identifying the person who robbed a bank in Gurnee.

Police said a robbery was reported at 4:14 p.m. Wednesday at the Gurnee Community Bank, 675 N. O'Plaine Road. No weapons were displayed and no injuries were reported.

The robber is described as a black man, possibly a teenager, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds with a slender build. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded jacket, visible blue shirt under the jacket, black face mask, black pants, black gloves, dark shoes. He was wearing a black backpack.

The offender fled the bank on a bicycle and was last seen in the area of Old Grand Avenue and Depot Road.

Anyone with information is asked to call Gurnee police at (847) 599-7000 or the FBI Media line (312) 829-1199. Anyone with information also can anonymously call Lake County Crime Stoppers at (847) 662-2222. Provided information may lead to a cash reward.
