Two injured in single-vehicle Dundee Township crash

Two men were injured Sunday when the car they were riding in crashed into a tree in Dundee Township, officials said.

Crews responded about noon to Elgin Avenue, south of Richardson Drive, and found a vehicle with heavy damage that was off the roadway and in the tree line, according to the East Dundee and Countryside Fire Protection District.

The two men occupying the vehicle were extricated and taken to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin. Their injuries do not appear to be life threatening, said Pat Gengler, spokesman for the Kane County sheriff's office.

Additional information about the cause of the crash was not immediately available. An investigation is ongoing.
