Aurora man guilty of sexually assaulting child

A 59-year-old Aurora resident was found guilty of predatory criminal sexual assault Tuesday, according to a news release Thursday from the Kane County state's attorney's office.

Narciso Gatica, of the 300 block of State Street, sexually assaulted and abused a child from June 2013 to October 2017, according to the release, and the victim was younger than 13 when the abuse started.

Gatica waived his right to a jury trial and was found guilty by Circuit Judge Donald Tegeler Jr. after a two-day proceeding.

Gatica's next court appearance is set for Dec. 27, where he will face a sentence of six to 67 years in prison. He also must register for life as a sexual offender.
