Pollwatcher credentials available at the Lake County Clerk's Office

Poll watcher credentials are available at the Lake County Clerk's Office in Waukegan to qualified political organizations needing them for the Nov. 6 election.

All poll watchers are required to have credentials issued by the Lake County Clerk or Illinois State Board of Elections in order to observe at any voting site. Poll watchers may represent candidates, established political parties, qualified civic organizations, and organized proponents or opponents of ballot propositions.

The clerk's office will offer training on the rights and limitations of poll watchers at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, in the 6th floor conference room E at the Lake County Courthouse, 18 N. County St. Requests for credentials and registration for the class can be sent via email to elections@lakecountyil.gov or by calling (847) 377-2314.

Candidates can also visit LakeCandidatePower.info and download the Poll watcher Guide, a brochure explaining the qualifications and responsibilities of a poll watcher.
