No-wake restriction lifted on Chain

Boating restrictions have been lifted on the Chain O' Lakes and the Fox River from the Stratton Lock and Dam in McHenry to the Wisconsin state line, the Fox Waterway Agency announced Friday. The lower river remains no-wake from the dam in McHenry to the Algonquin Dam, authorities said. No-wake means boats are not allowed to travel at speeds fast enough to create a wake behind them. Boating restrictions were put put in place late last week due to heavy rains and high water. For more information, visit the Fox Waterway Agency website at foxwaterway.com.
