Wheeling Twp. Adopt-A-Family applications will be available Saturday
Wheeling Township will accept applications Saturday for its annual Adopt-A-Family program, which connects township families with generous donors who fulfill wish lists of gifts.
Applications will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at township offices, 1616 N. Arlington Heights Road in Arlington Heights. No appointment is necessary. Those applying are asked to bring a picture ID for parents, birth certificates for children, the current month's electric bill and proof of all sources of household income for the last 30 days.
Under the program, which serves more than 200 families annually, recipients provide three gift suggestions for each family member; these lists are then given to the donors who are asked to spend between $50 and $100 per family member.
The township is also looking for donors for its annual Thanksgiving Basket program. To apply, email mhernandez@wheelingtownship.com by Nov. 5.
