Pulitzer Prize-winning author to speak in North Chicago

Author James Forman Jr., who won a 2018 Pulitzer Prize for "Locking Up Our Own: Crime and Punishment in Black America," will explore the rise of mass incarceration and its disproportionate impact on people of color in a presentation from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19 at Greenbelt Cultural Center, 1215 Green Bay Road, North Chicago. The visit is hosted by the City of North Chicago as part of its CONNECT North Chicago initiative. The event is free and open to the public but seating in limited. Call (847) 596-8610.
