The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce awarded charitable donations of more than $6,000 from the proceeds of the 2018 Uncork Barrington wine-tasting event, the organization announced Thursday.

Recipients of the donations were the Barrington Area Conservation Trust; Barrington Area Council on Aging; Barrington Area United Way; Barrington Noon Rotary Club; and BStrong Together.

"We are delighted to award these worthwhile organizations donations directly from the proceeds of Uncork Barrington," BACC President/CEO Suzanne Corr said in the announcement. "The chamber is very thankful to all who attended, sponsored, and supported Uncork to make these donations possible!"

More than 900 people attended Uncork Barrington on July 6. The event was co-hosted by the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce, Barrington Area Council on Aging and Barrington Village Association.
