Expect delays during Elk Grove Village road work

Drivers in Elk Grove Village should brace for major delays along Elk Grove Boulevard and John F. Kennedy Boulevard over the next week while paving work is underway.

The project, which began Tuesday, involves Elk Grove Boulevard between Arlington Heights and Tonne roads, and John F. Kennedy Boulevard between Arlington Heights Road and Brantwood Avenue.

Drivers should anticipate traffic being controlled by construction flaggers, especially when paving operations are being completed at intersections. Construction will be scheduled to avoid the schools drop off and pick up times, when possible, officials said. There will be semi dump trucks lined up along the roadway as the operation requires a substantial amount of material, according to the village.

The project is expected take seven days, though the schedule is subject to change based on weather and progress of work.
