Bartlett to hold major disaster drill Oct. 21

Beginning about 8 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, the village of Bartlett, the Bartlett Police Department, the Bartlett Fire Protection District and the Bartlett Park District will test their emergency response capabilities with a full-scale disaster drill near the Bartlett Park District Community Center, 700 S. Bartlett Road.

There will be an unusually large number of police and fire vehicles, equipment and personnel in and around the community center as part of the exercise.

Hundreds of volunteers and multiple responding agencies will participate in this emergency drill to make it as realistic as possible and maximize the challenge for the responders. The entire exercise is expected to last three to four hours.

Although the Bartlett Community Center will be open for regular use, residents are asked not to come to the grounds with the intent of observing this exercise.
