Fundraiser for Phil's Beach project in Wauconda Saturday

The Wauconda Park District will host a fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 13, to benefit the $3 million redevelopment of Phil's Beach.

Park district officials are turning the long-unused beach into a public park. Games, food and music are planned for the event, which is set for 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the beach, 336 N. Main St.

Tickets are $45 or $40 for Wauconda Park Foundation members, and include a barbecue dinner, two drinks, live music and two raffle tickets. You must be at least 21 years old to attend.

Tickets can be purchased at waucondaparks.org or at the park district's community center, 600 N. Main St.
