No injuries in early morning fire in Naperville

No one was injured during an overnight house fire on the 800 block of Emerald Drive in Naperville, authorities said.

The Naperville Fire Department received a 911 call at 2:46 a.m. Monday from a neighbor, authorities said in a news release.

A police officer arrived on the scene and reported fire was showing from the roof of the single-story house, and that a senior citizen was possibly trapped inside.

Firefighters got the resident out of the home unharmed, officials said.

Crews located the fire in the attic and had the blaze under control within 30 minutes.

The home was deemed uninhabitable due to the smoke and fire damage. The resident was reunited with a family member.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and a damage amount is unknown.
