Grayslake Cemetery Walk Sept. 30

The Grayslake Historical Society will host its annual Grayslake Cemetery Walk on Sunday, Sept. 30, at the cemetery on Lake Street, just north of Route 120. There will be two performances: 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. During the living history tour, costumed interpreters will bring to life stories of families buried in the cemetery and talk about major Grayslake and Illinois events that happened in their lifetime. There will be stories about the Chicago fire and the Wilbur Lumber Co. fire in Grayslake, about the first Illinois State Fair and the Lake County Fair and about the Illinois state capital moving three times and the Grayslake Village Hall moving three times.

Admission is free. Donations are encouraged. For information, visit HTTPS://grayslakehistory.org/
