Images: George Pradel through the years

Longtime Naperville Mayor George Pradel died Tuesday, one day shy of his 81st birthday. A lifelong resident of Naperville, he was a Naperville police officer from 1966 to 1995 and became well-known locally as the department's "Officer Friendly." He served as mayor from 1995-2015.
