Hanover Township hosts tax-appeal seminar Sept. 26

Hanover Township Assessor Thomas S. Smogolski, along with Township Supervisor Brian P. McGuire and Cook County Commissioner Timothy O. Schneider, will co-sponsor a property tax appeal seminar Wednesday, Sept. 26, with staff from Cook County Assessor Joseph Berrios' office.

Starting at 6 p.m. at the Township Senior Center, 240 S. Route 59 in Bartlett, staff from the assessor's office will be available to answer questions and accept property tax appeals. Residents are asked to bring their tax bill.

Hanover Township is open for appeals until Oct. 1. For residents seeking to appeal through the Hanover Township Assessor's Office, the last day to file is Sept. 27.

Appeals filed will be for the 2018 tax year, paid in 2019.
