Free back-to-school movie night Friday in Palatine

The Palatine Park District is hosting a free back-to-school movie night featuring Sony's school dance movie "Breaking Legs" at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The movie will begin outdoors at dusk at the Fred P. Hall Amphitheater, 256 E. Palatine Road, Palatine.

Attendees who dress up in their favorite high school sports jersey will receive a free raffle entry for some "Breaking Legs" swag, gift cards, DVDs and more. The event will include free raffles and giveaways, and concessions will be sold by Pizza Bella.

In "Breaking Legs," high school freshman Bloom joins the dance team at her new school. Bloom finds herself thrust into a sudden, venomous rivalry with the lead dancer when they're both nominated for the homecoming crown. The film is rated PG.
