Geneva selling garbage stickers online

With online shopping, you can get just about all your necessities delivered to your house.

In Geneva, that now includes garbage stickers.

The city has begun selling the stickers through the "Shop the Geneva Store" section of its website, geneva.il.us.

You can purchase up to 10 sheets of stickers, at $13 per sheet. There is a shipping charge, from 60 cents to $1.23, depending on how many you buy.

Users must pay with a PayPal account.

People can continue to buy stickers in person at city hall, 22 S. First St.; the city's finance division office, 15 S. First St.; and at 13 stores in Batavia, Elburn, Geneva and St. Charles.

The city also announced the Fabyan Windmill is the image on the 2018 pewter ornament.

The windmill is depicted on the front, and its history is explained on the back.

The 68-foot-tall windmill was built between 1850 and 1860 in Lombard, and moved to Geneva in 1914. It was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It was renovated from 2003 to 2005. Visitors can tour it from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays from May 15 through Oct. 15.

This is the ninth pewter ornament the city has offered. Six of the previous ones are still available.

The store also sells other Geneva-themed items, including coffee mugs, tote bags, posters, license-plate frames, hats and the city flag.
